This distinctive fabric is created using the centuries-old art of block printing, where skilled artisans hand-carve wooden blocks to stamp intricate patterns onto the cloth. Each colour is applied with a separate block in a careful, rhythmic process, resulting in a beautifully layered effect. As every piece is entirely handmade, no two metres are ever exactly the same, slight variations in colour, weave, stitching and print are a treasured hallmark of genuine craftsmanship and tradition.
